Check out Sonny Miller’s testimonial about his Magnum 27′ Starfire!
I enjoyed the time I spent with Filippo in racing on many other trips in and out of the area for years. I also enjoyed at the same time to meet his wife Katrin.
In the photo, Mr. Theodoli is driving. I am always in the center at the throttles. I remember racing in Sardinia with Filippo. I had only done some mechanical work and ran sea trials before the boat was shipped to Piombino, Italy. When the boat arrived in Italy, I tuned the engines and filled the oil. The seas were rough from Piombino to Sardinia. We made some shortcuts through the Bonifacio Straits near large moon rocks; Filippo knew his way through that area. We ran full throttle to make up time.
Once we arrived in Sardinia, we raced in class one. I think Mondadori or Bonomi in a Cigarette 35’ won and we came in third. Filippo received a trophy from the Yacht Club of Costa Smeralda.
Thanks for the opportunity to think of that time.
