The 61st Annual Fort Lauderdale International Boat Show was held this past week Oct 28th – Nov 1st at the Bahia Mar Yachting Center. The Fort Lauderdale International Boat Show (FLIBS) is the largest in-water boat show in the world and exhibits the latest and greatest boats and yachts, presents worldwide debut innovations, and also showcases a multitude of products and accessories to take your nautical lifestyle to the next level.
FLIBS 2020 was five incredible days full of exhibitions, special events, and marketing opportunities for all marine and boat connoisseurs. Attendees could go visit Superyacht Village which was home to some of the most incredible yachts out there and they also offered seminars and events for kids so they could be part of the fun. The show also featured over 100 food vendors that sold food for every palate imaginable and some served upscale beers and cocktails straight to your boat or exhibit space.
Despite smaller crowds, due to Covid-19, the show was still a success with a large number of boats/yachts and marine equipment sold with glowing reviews from all attendees and vendors. The smaller crowds and more spaced out layout actually let vendors display more of their boats and accessories and allowed more room for potential buyers to explore. The increase in sales at this year’s show could also be attributed to the increase of potential first-time boat owners because of the Covid-19 pandemic. FLIBS transformed the layout, set-up, execution, and guidelines of the show to make sure everything followed the official government and local authority Covid-19 guidance so all attendees and vendors would remain safe and healthy.
